Salary to Hourly Calculator
Convert an annual salary to an hourly wage, or an hourly wage to a yearly salary. See daily, weekly, biweekly and monthly pay as well.
How to convert salary to hourly
Hourly wage = Annual salary ÷ (hours per week × weeks per year)
A full-time job is usually 40 hours a week for 52 weeks, which is 2,080 paid hours a year. So a $60,000 salary works out to $60,000 ÷ 2,080 = $28.85 an hour.
How to convert hourly to salary
Annual salary = Hourly wage × hours per week × weeks per year
At $25 an hour for 40 hours a week, 52 weeks a year: 25 × 40 × 52 = $52,000 a year. A quick shortcut for full-time work is to double the hourly rate and add three zeros: $25 → about $50,000.

Things the simple conversion leaves out
- Paid time off: salaried workers are usually paid for holidays and vacation, so 52 weeks is right. If you are hourly and unpaid on holidays, use fewer weeks.
- Overtime: salaried exempt staff often work more than 40 hours. Enter your real hours to see your true hourly rate.
- Benefits: health insurance and retirement matching add value that is not in the hourly figure.
- Taxes: all numbers here are before tax.
